Steven S. Baum

Mr. Baum began his career with Newport News Shipbuilding as a design engineer. He joined Virginia Natural Gas in 1987 as a gas purchaser for VNG system requirements. In 1989, he joined VNG’s new industrial marketing department and acted as a liaison between VNG and the large gas transporting industrial base. Mr. Baum then joined CNG Retail, the energy marketing subsidiary of Consolidated Natural Gas and was responsible for growing markets on Columbia and Transco pipelines off of CNG Transmission. He joined Dominion Resources in 1995 as manager of its new natural gas retail sales, electricity sales, and energy consulting businesses, which now make up the backbone of Compass Energy.

Mr. Baum has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
